Mission 3:18 brings service into the heart of the baseball season, connecting professional players with meaningful opportunities to support communities across the country. Working alongside MLB teams and chaplains, Big League Impact partners with trusted nonprofit organizations addressing critical local needs.
One of those organizations is the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which works to ensure that neighbors throughout Los Angeles County have access to the nutritious food they need. The Food Bank provided the following story about Elena, whose experience illustrates the meaningful difference this work makes for families across the region.
Elena’s story is one shared by thousands of neighbors, a fixed monthly income that simply doesn’t stretch far enough to cover the rising cost of groceries. As a mother, she prioritizes providing sufficient, nutritious meals for her growing daughter. She comes to Adventures to Dreams to pick up items she can rarely afford on her own otherwise.
