About Big League Impact

OUR STORY
Founded in 2013 by St Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright, Big League Impact is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that reflect the beliefs of family, friends and supporters that we are citizens of a global community who ought to care for one another. We are only strangers when we see the needs of others and do not act.

Adam Wainwright
Founder and President
Big League Impact is the brainchild of St. Louis Cardinals legend Adam Wainwright. The organization reflects Adam’s creativity, generosity, and passion for maximizing effectiveness and impact. A two-time World Series champion, three-time All-Star, two-time Gold Glover, a Silver Slugger, and the 2020 Roberto Clemente Award winner, Adam’s accomplishments on the field are only rivaled by his heart off of it. With his leadership and guidance, Big League Impact has grown from a local “Fantasy Football for Charity” concept into a lightning rod for partnerships across countless industries and philanthropic areas, raising over $8 million in the process. Adam and his wife, Jenny, have five children, splitting their time between St. Louis and his native St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Kyle Gibson
Vice President
Great pitchers have remarkable talents beyond their physical gifts, and Kyle is no exception. With a strategic mindset and natural patience, thoughtfulness, creativity, and consideration, Kyle has helped Big League Impact’s expansion among players across the league. A starting pitcher with the Minnesota Twins most of his career and a two-time winner of the Twins’ Good Guy Award, he joined the Texas Rangers in 2020 before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in mid-2021. Kyle and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children and live in Washington, Missouri, during the offseason.
History
In 2013, Big League Impact hosted its inaugural fantasy football event, Waino’s World, and raised more than $110,000 for St. Louis area nonprofit Operation Food Search and international clean water engineering organization Water Mission. The year was so successful that Wainwright invited other professional baseball players to join him and host leagues in their hometowns.
Since 2013, Big League Impact and its community of professional athletes, musicians, and other public figures have raised over $8 million for charitable causes and foundations through events that raise awareness and donations from local philanthropists who are drawn to the causes our players care about. We have worked with over 100 MLB players, and hosted over 250 campaigns and events.
For years, Big League Impact has had success bringing awareness to causes that align with its mission and raising dollars to support them.
