ABOUT YOUR IMPACT: RMHC Maryland

At Big League Impact, our mission is simple: to help people in times of need. Since 2013, we’ve partnered with MLB players and their fans to raise funds and awareness for causes like childhood cancer, global poverty, and clean water access. We believe that when people come together, they can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

During the 2025 #ALLWIN Baltimore campaign, Baltimore Orioles pitcher Zach Eflin supported Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland, helping families stay close to their children during pediatric medical crises. Thanks to Zach’s generosity, Big League Impact was proud to deliver a $5,040 donation to RMHC Maryland — funds that help provide a true home-away-from-home for families facing the unthinkable.

One of those families is Kiera Cole and Richard Robinson, whose daughter Londyn was born at just 27 weeks gestation, weighing only two pounds. After Londyn’s premature arrival and a long list of medical complications, she was transferred to the University of Maryland Medical Center — more than an hour from her family’s home. Determined to remain by her side, Kiera and Richard quickly found themselves overwhelmed by travel, exhaustion, and uncertainty.

That’s when they were introduced to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland.

“We felt that our prayers had been answered,” Kiera shared. “We had been drowning in stress and worry, and suddenly we had comfort, stability, and support.”

For 517 days, RMHC Maryland became their second home. Beyond a place to sleep, the House provided meals, transportation, and a sense of security — along with smiles, hugs, and small moments of joy that made an enormous difference during dark days. While Londyn fought bravely in the PICU, her parents were able to stay close, grounded by a community that truly understood what they were facing.

On June 15, 2025, after more than a year in the hospital, Londyn rang the good news bell and finally went home.

RMHC Maryland supports 55 families every night and thousands each year — stories like Londyn’s made possible through the generosity of supporters like Zach Eflin. Together, through the #ALLWIN campaign, we’re helping families stay together when it matters most.
