Yes, a Doodle is a thing. It originally represented something that Google saw as larger than it’s own brand. Today, Doodles have been used to show solidarity with many causes (you can find a complete list of the Doodles here) and sometimes—as was the case with the first Doodle—to communicate that the team was out of the office and attending Burning Man.

Today’s Doodle of Roberto Clemente, with the image of a heart on a baseball, continues the legacy of a man who sacrificed everything to deliver relief to people in need. A hero to many, Roberto Clemente represents the highest level of comparison that any baseball player can achieve. Many of the players who are leading Big League Impact campaigns have told us that winning the Clemente Award would be the highest personal achievement of their careers. Not the Cy Young or MVP, but the award given to the player who best represents the game through extraordinary character, community involvement and philanthropy.

Way to go, Google! This is an incredible image of a man who represents much of what Big League Impact, our players, and staff strive for. Humility, Integrity and Selfless Serving throughout the courses of our lives.
