Nearly $100,000 raised for people in need!

St. Louis Cardinals fans will go head-to-head with Big League Impact founder Adam Wainwright and his teammates Tommy Edman, Lars Nootbaar, Ryan Helsley, Steven Matz and Drew VerHagenΒ during this year’s Big League Impact charity fantasy football league in St. Louis, presented by CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

This year’s league has raised nearly $100,000, which will support the following charities, which were hand-picked by participating Cardinals players.

  • Big League Impact, which helps pro athletes rally their fans to raise money for causes close to their hearts in an effort to save lives, restore dignity and instill hope for people in need around the world. (Wainwright)
  • Ground40, which provides practical and spiritual guidance to men transitioning back into the community from homelessness, addiction and incarceration. (Matz)
  • Meals on Wheels Rockwall, which helps keep the elderly and disabled citizens of Rockwall County, Texas, living in their homes as long as safely possible by providing nutritious meals, daily human contact and supportive services. (VerHagen)
  • St. Louis Public Schools Foundation, which works to engage and focus local, regional and national support to promote educational success for St. Louis Public School District students. (Edman)
  • St. Louis Stray Rescue, which rescues stray animals in need of medical attention, restores them to health and places them in loving adoptive homes. (Nootbaar)
  • Tenkiller Public Schools, the middle school Helsley attended in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. The money will help support education and athletics for local students. (Helsley)
