ABOUT YOUR IMPACT: HELP ONE NOW

At Big League Impact, our mission is simple: Help people in times of need. Since 2013, our organization has partnered with MLB players and their fans to raise money and awareness for a variety of causes, such as childhood cancer, global poverty, and access to clean water.

Big League Impact VP Kyle Gibson has been a long-time supporter of Help One Now, a nonprofit that empowers families in developing countries in an effort to end extreme poverty.

The funds Kyle has raised in recent years have helped provide ongoing support for classrooms at the school Help One Now has established in Haiti’s Ferrier Village as a refuge for orphaned children who have been rescued from traffickers or who are at a high risk of being trafficked.

“We are so grateful for your long-term support and life-changing commitment to supporting the Ferrier, Haiti community,” says Lamar Stockton, Help One Now’s director of development. “Ferrier Secondary School has become an integral part of the community. It has provided an opportunity that never existed in the region and a pathway to transforming an entire community for generations to come.”

According to Help One Now, in 2023 the Ferrier Secondary School empowered more than 700 students, employed 40 teachers and other staff members, provided 265,000 nutritious meals and supplied nearly 800 people with access to clean water. The school continues to expand, and more space is needed to continue its important work in the community.

“We are proud and grateful for the work being done at Ferrier Secondary School and we are working to continue to grow this impact,” Stockton says. “We’ve broken ground on a brand new wing of the school, which will greatly increase the number of students we are able to serve, as well as create a stable and safe environment for students in the midst of the current crisis in Haiti.”

Thank you to Help One Now for sharing this update, and to Kyle for introducing us to this wonderful organization.
