At Big League Impact, our mission is simple: Help people in times of need. Since 2013, our organization has partnered with MLB players and their fans to raise money and awareness for a variety of causes, such as childhood cancer, global poverty, and access to clean water.

In 2022, Big League Impact helped MLB pitcher Zach Eflin (formerly of the Philadelphia Phillies, now with the Tampa Bay Rays) raise $58,743 for Kisses for Kyle, a non-profit organization that supports families who have children battling cancer in the Delaware Valley area.

“Every time we’ve been able to support our families financially this year through these extra generous funds available to us, I think of you, your awesome organization, and Zach and Lauren (Eflin),” writes executive director Sharon Snyder.

Snyder described a recent situation involving a family who rushed from their home in Mexico to the Delaware Valley to get their son the best treatment available for his cancer diagnosis. The family left in such a hurry, they were unable to pack everything they would need for their stay — including a change of clothes.

“Their social worker reached out on behalf of the family, thinking it would be a long shot of a request, but she thought to ask as we tend to support out of the box emergency needs,” Snyder says. “After explaining to me what the family is facing, I was able to immediately say, of course we can help.

“I will wholeheartedly say, having these generous funds to utilize immediately is and will be making a huge impact to many families during what has to be the most difficult time in a family’s life.”

Thank you to Kisses for Kyle for sharing this powerful story, and to the Eflins for their support of this inspiring organization.
