As I look back at my time here in St. Louis, many things come to mind. Championships and World Series parades. Hugging Yadi after closing out a big game. Feeling freezing cold champagne run over my playoff beard inside a soaked clubhouse. Hearing the crowd erupt after a big strikeout or home run. Driving to the park on opening day and seeing thousands of people at 9am already camped out and excited with smokers or grills fired up. Stepping out of the dugout to walk towards the bullpen and hearing the crowd start to get excited as I walk across the field to begin warming up. Those are moments that I will never forget.

But what I will remember most is the way the amazing people of this community have embraced our family, and made this feel like home. Not only have you supported me as a Cardinals player, but you’ve also helped this incredible foundation, Big League Impact, grow and bring food, water, and shelter to people across the globe that would have never seen otherwise. Thank you.

I am already preparing for next season. Our young players are super talented, and our front office is committed to winning.

I look forward to bringing another World Series trophy back to St Louis in 2019.
